CROIX ATTACK practices are held in Gym space rented from the Hudson School District.
CROIX ATTACK teams will practice twice a week during the evening. A practice schedule will be posted between tryouts and the first practice. Practice sessions last about 90 minutes. All CROIX ATTACK teams will also participate in a 45 minute strength and conditioning twice a week. These sessions will take place on the same night and location as the player's regularly scheduled practice.
PRACTICE COMMITMENT
Playing time is heavily determined on the player's participation in practice. CROIX ATTACK expects you to make every effort to attend all practices. Rare accomodations can be made for other activities and conflicts.
Practices usually start in early December and run until the last tournament. Depending on the team, this can be through June. However, most girl's teams are done by mid April and boy's by mid May.
CROIX ATTACK will periodically cancel practices due to inclimate weather. We follow the actions of the Hudson School Dist. If classes or evening activites have been canceled at Hudson, so then are CROIX ATTACK practices. As not all players reside in Hudson, please use your best judgment before attempting to come to practice if your school district has closed.
CROIX ATTACK girl's teams participate in the Northern Lights Power League. League play begins in early January and finishes by early April. As 100's of teams participate in this league, there is no "Spring Break". You can count on your team playing during part of your spring break. Please consider this before committing to a team.
The Power League is held in the state-of-the-art Midwest Volleyball Warehouse facility!
All regular dates will operate on either Saturday or Sunday. Each Saturday and Sunday is split into two shifts;
Shift 1: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Shift 2: 2:30 PM - 8:30 PM
The age divisions will be grouped such that the 11's/12's, 15's/16's all play on one weekend and 13's/14's, 17's/18's will all play on another.
At this point it is not possible to determine if you will play on either Saturday or Sunday but you can expect to alternate between Saturday and Sunday for each of the different league dates. Your actual play date will be determined by your position in the pools and the schedule posted about 7 days in advance.
Power Leagues will run as scheduled regardless of winter weather. It is extremely unlikely that a Power League would be canceled. If a Power League were canceled due to 12+ inches of snow, the information will be posted on their website in place of that day's schedule. In the unlikely event of a weather cancellation there will be no rescheduled dates and no refunds, teams will simply advance to the next date in their same respective positions.
All of CROIX ATTACK's teams will participate in at least one "single day" Tournament. Many teams may play in additional "2-day Festival" or Qualifier tournaments.
CROIX ATTACK will host at least one home tournament. All CROIX ATTACK teams will play in this tournament, assuming sufficient participation from competing teams.
The Upper (13-1 and higher) teams will participate in the President's Day Festival. This 2-Day tournament boasts of 100's of teams from across the country playing at multiple venues through out the Twin Cities.
One out-of-town tournament maybe added to the schedule. Travel and lodging for this tournament are not included in the entry fees and are the player's responsibility. Fund raising activites can be organized (with Board approval) to help off-set the costs.
The spring only league is a shorter, less intensive volleyball experience.
The Spring league is limited to players living in the Hudson School District only (This is a league rule, not a Croix Attack rule).
The league will run from mid March to mid May. Players will practice 2 nights per week during the 8-10 week season. Tournaments begin in April and run for 6 consecutive weekends, ending with a league tournament on the 7th weekend. Players will participate in 4-5 of the league dates and the final tournament. League dates will consist of 3-5 matches over one day. League matches are played all over western to central Wisconsin.
Players are responsible for their own transportation to and from the events.
Registration and tryouts for this league have not yet been scheduled. DO NOT register for the November tryout if you only intend to play in the spring league.
