Team selections are based on the athlete's performance at tryouts, at the discretion of the coaches and Board of Directors.  

CROIX ATTACK will hold an open gym for players to help familiarize the athletes to how the tryout will progress and the skills that will be evaluated.  

Teams are limited to 8-12 players grouped by age and skill level.  CROIX ATTACK requires that an athlete must attend tryouts to make a team.  The only exception is if a team is in need of more players.  Allowances can be made for athletes with injuries.

CROIX ATTACK will carry as many teams as we can support with adequate practice space and qualified coaches.

Playing time with CROIX ATTACK is NOT guaranteed.  The teams coach, attempting to develop player skills, knowledge and passion of the game, and a winning tradition will determine participation in games.  

Please consider the involvement your child has in other activities and sports before registering for this season.  It will not be acceptable to miss practices and/or play dates because of other activities you are involved in.  This will affect play time.  

CROIX ATTACK will make every effort to ensure that each player is given equal practice opportunities.

Players at all levels will learn the competitive nature of JO volleyball and may be asked to play positions they are not familiar with.  Parents need to understand that all players do not play every position nor every point of a match.  Some players will only play back row, front row or all around.  This will be determined by the coach.  Players will be learning rotations as learned at the Middle and High School level to prepare them for the next school season.  

CROIX ATTACK practices are held at gyms rented from the Hudson School District.

CROIX ATTACK teams will practice twice a week during the evening.  A practice schedule will be posted between tryouts and the first practice, and will be available about a month in advance.  Practice sessions last up to 2 hours.  

PRACTICE COMMITMENT

Playing time is heavily determined on the player's attendance and participation in practice.  CROIX ATTACK expects you to make every effort to attend all practices.  If you are unable to attend practice, you must contact your coach ASAP prior to practice.  Missing practice(s) may affect playing time. 

Practices typically start in early December and run until the last tournament.  Depending on the team,  this could be early April.  

CROIX ATTACK will periodically cancel practices due to inclement weather.  We follow the actions of the Hudson School District.  If classes or evening activities have been canceled at Hudson, so then are CROIX ATTACK practices.  As not all players reside in Hudson, please use your best judgment before attempting to come to practice if there is inclement weather or your school district has closed.

Our coaches and assistant coaches are trained and certified through USA Volleyball.  Many of CROIX ATTACK's coaches have 10-20+ years of playing and coaching experience.

CROIX ATTACK is always looking for confident and energetic coaches.  Experience is not necessary, but is preferred.  CROIX ATTACK will provide training and coaching assistance.

Teams will participate in league play dates and tournaments at venues around the Greater Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin.  

Teams may participate in: 

• Big City Luau Tournament in late January for 15's-17's.  This 2-Day tournament will be played  at multiple venues throughout the Twin Cities.
• Presidents' Day Tournament in mid-February is a 2-Day tournament (for all teams) played at multiple venues through out the Twin Cities Metro. 
•  Other local tournaments may also be available.

Out-of-town tournaments are considered on a team-by-team basis as they require travel, lodging and additional tournament entry fees, which are not covered by the Player Fee or considered in Coaches Pay.  If your team is interested in a tournament out-of-town, please contact the Board via croixattack@outlook. com to discuss further.
