Club Philosophy

Hudson Volleyball Association is dedicated to promote and develop the sport of volleyball through an emphasis on technical instruction that teaches the skills and techniques needed to learn and play the sport competitively.   This assures an atmosphere that promotes individual skill improvement and a mental understanding of the game while encouraging competitiveness and fun. Our programs encourage good sportsmanship in winning and losing, and respect for people and property. 

Our Winter - JO program is for girls ages 12-17.

Our Spring and Summer programs are for girls in grades 4th to 8th.

2021-22 JO Season Ethos Performance Training

Ethos Performance will be providing a private training opportunity for our JO players this year. This program is optional but highly encouraged. Classes will take place on Wednesday nights beginning December 1 and will be organized by age groups.  Location for training is at 110 1st Street in downtown Hudson.

NEEDED - 2022 Spring League Coaches!

In order to have a 2022 spring league season for grades 4-8, and to be able to accommodate the high interest level at these ages,  we are reaching out early in need for coaches.    If interested, please email the Spring League Coordinators at

2021-22 JO Players - Fan Wear

Our online fanwear store is now open.  This year we are working with River City Stitch in River Falls.  The link, close November 24 has been extended to November 29!

2021-22 JO Season Fees & Payment Information

Fee for 12's - 17's will again be $950.  Payment will be due in full at tryouts upon acceptance of an offer.

12’s-14’s – Payment due on October 3

15’s-17’s – Payment due on November 14

Payments can be made by check (made out to HVA) or by credit card (with service fee).

FEE COVERS - Jersey (returned at end of season), warm-up jacket, pants and a pair of socks; League and Tournament Entry Fees; Insurance; Trained and Certified Coaches; Equipment and Gym Space; Administrative fees

Additional expenses not covered by the fee:

  • Players are responsible for purchasing navy spandex 
  • $50 Player membership for USAV / Badger Region
    • $27.50 stays within the Badger Region to cover coaching & officials education, administration and Region promotion; and $22.50 goes to USA Volleyball National office to cover sport accident/liability insurance, membership tracking program, online officiating tools, advanced coaching education, SafeSport training 

JO Tryout/Retention Offer Info 2021-22

HVA/Croix Attack has participated in the Badger Region "Retention Period" program similar to last year.  Coaches evaluated their teams at the end of last season & submitted to the Board no more than 6 players that should receive Retention Period offers.  Offers are made for a spot, NOT a specific position, on their respective JO teams for the upcoming season.  Positions will be determined by the coaches once they have a full team.  All offers remain confidential until tryouts out of respect for all players.

The remaining spots that we will have per team for the 2021-2022 Croix Attack JO Season are:

12's- up to 10 spots

13's- up to 8 spots

14's- up to 4 spots

15's- up to 10 spots

16's- up to 5 spots

17's- up to 4 spots

USAV Junior Age Definition 2021-22

The junior age definition for each age group was adjusted to a start date of July 1 in 2020 (the date had previously been September 1).  See Age Definition Chart for specific information.

2021 Heier Scholarship Winner

Congratulations to Megan Schmidtknecht, our 2021 Heier Scholarship Winner!  Megan has been involved with Croix Attack/Hudson Volleyball since the 7th grade both as a player and as an assistant coach.  She will also continue playing volleyball in college.   We wish Megan the best of luck in the future!

2020 Northern Lights Power League for 12's - 13's - 14's

Attached you will find the link for the league play dates. Note: 13's and 14's play the same dates. 13's and 14's teams will also participate in the NorthStar President's Day Challenge - February 6-7. One additional tournament date TBD by the coach.

2020 Molten Series for 15's - 16's - 17's

Teams will play in 5 League Play Dates which will be Saturday or Sunday played in either Burnsville, Bloomington or Maple Grove. Teams will also participate in the Big City Luau - January 30-31 and NCR President's Day - February 13-14.

Inclement Weather

Scheduled events will continue unless you have been notified by your coach.  If you are not able to attend, please notify your coach. Thank you!

Croix Attack typically cancels practices/events when the Hudson Area School District closes due to weather.  However, we ask that parents use their discretion as to the severity of the weather and safety of travel. Please communicate to your coaches if you will miss or be late for practice.

We will monitor and post updates on the website if practices or games are cancelled.  If in doubt, contact your coach.
