Club Philosophy

Hudson Volleyball Association is dedicated to promote and develop the sport of volleyball through an emphasis on technical instruction that teaches the skills and techniques needed to learn and play the sport competitively.   This assures an atmosphere that promotes individual skill improvement and a mental understanding of the game while encouraging competitiveness and fun. Our programs encourage good sportsmanship in winning and losing, and respect for people and property.

Our Winter - JO program is for girls ages 12-17.

USAV Junior Age Definition Change

The USA Volleyball Board of Directors has voted to adjust the USAV junior age definitions, effective for the 2020-21 season. The junior age definition for each age group was adjusted to a start date of July 1 (the date had previously been September 1).  See Age Definition Chart at -

JO Tryout Forms

There are 4 required forms to bring to tryouts along with a printed USAV ID card.  Unfortunately, if any forms/ID card are missing, you will not be allowed to tryout.

- Concussion Form
- Conflict Resolution Policy
- COVID-waiver
- Medical Release

USAV ID Card - Players must purchase a $15 Fall membership from USAV volleyball prior to tryouts.  The link for memberships can be found here:  You will be asked a couple of questions and should answer "player" and "Fall" for length of participation and then you will be directed to the $15 Fall Junior membership, which is valid through 12/31/20 and can be upgraded later to a full membership.

What is a Retention Offer?

In May 2019, the Badger Region Board of Directors approved several changes regarding tryouts and commitments designed for the purpose(s) of player retention, budgeting and other logistics, securing and training coaches, to ease the tension of the tryout process, etc.   Badger Region now allows an optional “Retention Period” in early August for clubs to be able to offer a spot in their club for the previous season’s players for the coming season. HVA/Croix Attack's Board voted last year to participate in this program.  Coaches evaluated their teams at the end of last season & submitted to the Board no more than 6 players that should receive Retention Period offers.  Offers are made for a spot, NOT a specific position, on their respective JO teams for the upcoming season.  Positions will be determined by the coaches once they have a full team.  All offers remain confidential until tryouts out of respect for all players.
