Club Philosophy

Hudson Volleyball Association is dedicated to promote and develop the sport of volleyball through an emphasis on technical instruction that teaches the skills and techniques needed to learn and play the sport competitively.   This assures an atmosphere that promotes individual skill improvement and a mental understanding of the game while encouraging competitiveness and fun. Our programs encourage good sportsmanship in winning and losing, and respect for people and property. 

Our Winter - JO program is for girls ages 12-17.

Our Spring and Summer programs are for girls in grades 4th to 8th.

Fanwear Store Open!

Need VB Supplies?

We have an online store set up for the purchase of volleyball supplies. You can purchase kneepads, shoes, spandex, socks and sleeves.  This is only for your convenience, and not a requirement that you purchase these brands, or from this store.

USAV Junior Age Definition 2022-23

The junior age definition for each age group was adjusted to a start date of July 1 in 2020 (the date had previously been September 1).  See Age Definition Chart for specific information.

2022-2023 JO Season TEAMS

Practice schedules for November and December have now been posted.  The majority of the tournaments have also been added to the calendar.   Please use the SportsEngine app for most current practice information.

Tryout Information / Retention Offers

HVA/Croix Attack has again participated in Badger Region’s “Retention Period” program similar to last year.  Coaches evaluated their teams at the end of last season & submitted to the Board no more than 6 players that should receive Retention Period offers.  Offers are made for a spot, NOT a specific position, on their respective JO teams for the upcoming season.  Positions will be determined by the coaches once they have a full team.  All offers remain confidential until tryouts out of respect for all players.

The remaining spots that we will have per team for the 2022-2023 Croix Attack JO Season are:

12's- up to 10 spots

13's- no retention offers - up to 24 spots if we have 2 teams

14's- up to 8 spots

15's- no retention offers - up to 10 spots

16's- up to 6 spots

17's- up to 5 spots

What to Expect at Tryouts

Players should expect the following drills at tryouts:
  • Passing control
  • Serve receive
  • Serving ability
  • Hitting & setting respective to your specific position
  • Team play
  • Attitude & ability to work as a team
  • Coachability


JO Players must bring the following 2 forms, completed, with them to the tryout date.  There will be NO copies available and players will not be allowed in the gym without the forms.

Inclement Weather

Scheduled events will continue unless you have been notified by your coach.  If you are not able to attend, please notify your coach. Thank you!

Croix Attack typically cancels practices/events when the Hudson Area School District closes due to weather.  However, we ask that parents use their discretion as to the severity of the weather and safety of travel. Please communicate to your coaches if you will miss or be late for practice.

We will monitor and post updates on the website if practices or games are cancelled.  If in doubt, contact your coach.
